Verna Walcott-White Dancer/Choreographer/President/CEO, of Impressions Dance Theatre, is a dedicated member of this Organization, H.E.R.O.C. Her mission is to fight cancer hoping for eradication in the future. A very passionate person in whatever cause she is involved in, this being no different. She is a founder Member and former instructor of the Guyana National Dance Company touring extensively, representing Guyana as an Ambassador for dance.
Verna is very versatile, creative and proficient in her field, as shown when she continued her journey in the Arts, after migrating to the USA, by opening her own Dance School – ‘Impressions Dance Theatre Inc.’ from 1998 to present.
As President/CEO, she produces, directs and choreographs for many productions. This year (2016) they are celebrating their 14th Annual Dance Recital. Impressions and Verna are the recipients of numerous Awards and Citations from the New York State Senate and New York City Council also organizations that include, The Guyana Cultural Association, The Guyana Day Inc, & Barbados Alumni Association.
Verna is the recipient of Proclamations in 2013 from The Honorable Helen Marshal, the Borough President of Queens and from the Honorable Melinda Katz in 2014 and 2015, The Extraordinary Woman’s Award for women who have made extraordinary accomplishments in the community, and the Golden Arrowhead Award of Distinction for years of service and mentorship in the community, by the Guyana Missions, Consulates and the Guyana Tri State Alliance Inc, Verna is presently employed as a Dance Consultant in five schools in Queens NY, where She also produces, directs and choreograph hundreds of shows. Verna brings with her, expertise and creative skills to the entertainment committee of this organization, Health & Education Relief Organization for Cancer.
